What is really happening to America? If we step back and look beyond the daily chaos and sensationalism, what do we see? Especially now, with the fallout from the recent dismantling of legacy agencies like the FBI, CIA, and USAID, and the U.S. Treasury’s takeover by a billionaire entrepreneur who has locked out thousands of working-class citizens in what some view as a hostile, potentially illegal seizure of offices. People are reeling, uncertain if this is a revolutionary act or an act of war. Either way, it’s definitely affecting people’s basic sense of well-being.
Talk about shock and awe! Social media and the mainstream media are filled with non-stop stories that are, one way or another, deeply unsettling. However, one thing is clear: something significant is unfolding right here on American soil, yet many Americans are uncertain of the resulting repercussions. Is this treason or transformation? Treason is often defined as betraying one’s country — attempting to overthrow the government or harm its leader. It’s a fine line, depending on whom you ask. In other words, is the current POTUS creating the very thing his supporters hoped he would remedy?
But let’s be clear: this isn’t the first time America has faced accusations of treason. Our country was founded on rebellion when the thirteen colonies broke free from Britain. And let’s not forget that the original settlers often forcibly took land from Native Americans, justifying it with the belief that they were bringing civilization to the “savages.”
Is this situation any different? Are these “leaders” fighting for true freedom, or merely for the illusion of it? Do those who claim to fight for freedom even have it to offer?
This brings us to a crucial question: can justice ever be achieved by breaking the law? Who becomes the judge, if not those with the power of wealth? The pendulum has swung from “woke” culture to what are now called “patriots.” But if you ask me, the house is on fire, and many are standing by, cheering as they watch democracy burn in the name of “justice,” without recognizing that neither approach is sustainable or serves the everyday, working-class American. Leaders argue over which approach is best, while the airwaves distract us with talks about taking over Greenland, Canada, and Gaza. Meanwhile, community members are deported, and legal injunctions are filed rapidly, with little clarity about the extent or power to stop what is currently unfolding. And the fire extinguisher is being pushed farther away. In one way, Trump is creating a resistance, but one he may not have imagined. One can’t help but wonder: Is this all intentional, or a conflict originally bound in America’s founding that finally finding resolution?
It seems the wealthy are gambling with our country, with the stakes for regular citizen's higher than ever...
